Zakyiah Shimi Staley

Memorial services for Zakyiah Shimi Staley 18, of West Columbia, South Carolina, will be held on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Pearson's Funeral Home-Chapel 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. He was born April 25, 2003, to his proud parents Mr. Cedric D. Staley and Kayictcha L. Brown. On July 21, 2021, he entered into eternal rest. In his 18 years, Zakyiah lived a full life. He loved to laugh and have fun. Zakyiah loved spending time with his family and friends. He was so full of life and a joy to be around. He had a love for sports and excelled in basketball and football; in which he proudly wore the # 8. He was educated in Lexington County School System, having attended Airport High School. Zakyiah was preceded in death by his loving maternal grandparents Mr. Charles Brown and Mrs. Barbara Brown White. and his loving Uncle, Mr. Charles Brown Jr. Memories of Zakyiah will forever be in the hearts of his parents Mr. Cedric D. Staley and Kayietcha L. Brown, his sister, Santanna Staley, and his brothers, Tyreek Jones, Jabri Brown, Cedric Staley, Jr., and Ozias Staley. He will be missed by his grandparents Mr. John Muller, Jr. and Ms. Sheila Staley, his uncles: Jake (Kimberly) Staley, Brad Muller, and Marshall Gardner, his aunts: Charlene Brown, Wateka Staley, Tara Staley, LeeAnna Richardson, Lakeisha (Amos) Wise, Twanda Muller, Andrea Brooks, and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends who were like brothers and sisters to him.
