Walter Dukes

Services for Deacon Walter Dukes, Sr., 88, of Columbia, South Carolina, will be held on Saturday at 12:00 Noon August 20, 2022 at Calvary Holiness Church Of God 1534 Middle Street Cayce, South Carolina. Burial will follow at Calvary Holiness Church Cemetery in Springfield, South Carolina off highway # 3. A viewing will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. He was born May 20, 1939 to the late Willie Bill Dukes and Mrs. Mary Agnes Leysath Dukes In 1959, he was united in marriage to his loving wife Vivian Harmon Dukes for 64 years. Mr. Dukes was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County,  and retired from the Owens Steel Plant in Cayce, South Carolina. Mr. Dukes was a member of the Calvary Holiness Church Of God and was a Deacon of the Church. One of his favorite passions of life was fishing with his brother in-law and his friends. He is cherish by his loving wife, Mrs. Vivian Harmon Dukes of the home, and three sons, Walter Dukes, Jr., of Columbia, S.C., and Nathaniel Richardson of North, S.C., and Andrea (Veronica) Carter of Columbia, S.C., and three daughters, Barbara P. Green of Columbia, S.C., and Janice Duckson of North, S.C., and Michelle (Isiah) Martin of Columbia, S.C., and grandchildren and great grandchildren and three sisters, Geraldine Howell, and Felisha Harley, and Lorraine Dukes, and two brothers, Herbert Lee (Geneva) Leysath, and Athel Dukes, Sr., sister in-laws, Mary Ellen (Robert) Jacobs, and Claudia Mason, and his brother in-laws Andrew (Betty) Washington, and Ernest Gridine, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
