Sidney Nathaniel Caughman

GRAVESIDE SERVICE for Mr. Sidney Nathaniel Caughman, 78, of West Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery 662 Old Wire Road West Columbia, South Carolina. There will be a viewing at Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina Tuesday 1:00 to 7:00 pm. Born in Lexington County the son of the late Pinkney and Bleaker Davis-Caughman on January 15, 1943. He departed this life on Wednesday March 31, 2021. Mr. Caughman graduated from Lexington Rosenwald High School. He was employed at Davis Paint and Body Shop and Charles Yon Body shop, both of Columbia, SC. He was a member of the Mt. Olive C.M.E. Church of Lexington, SC, until he later became a member of the Greater St. Paul A.M.E. Chuirch in West Columbia, SC. Where Mr. Sidney Caughman served faithfully and honorably as the president of the Sons of Allen, Stewart Board, Finance Community, and a class Leader for many whom he served with a kind heart. Mr. Caughman was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Frank and David Caughman, four sisters, Maureen Davenport, Thelma Worthy, Maxine  Dent and Ermenise Williams. Mr. Caughman leaves to cherish his precious and dear memories to his loving wife Mrs. Vivian Caughman, four sons: Sidney Caughman Jr., Reginald (Sophia) Caughman, Torrence (Lisa) Caughman, Warren (Tracy) Caughman, five grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. Alline Caughman Cook, one sister-in-law Rosa Mae (William) Montgomery and one brother in-law Thomas (Doris) Jones. A host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
