Memorial services for Ms. Monique Georgette Williams of 785 Shadowbrook Drive, Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am April 21, 2021 at the Pearson's Funeral Home-Chapel Columbia, South Carolina. She departed this life for her heavenly home on Thursday April 15, 2021, at Prisma Health in Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Brooklyn, New York the daughter to Loretta Hemming and Mr. George Williams. Affectionately known as Mo. was a graduate of C.A. Johnson, class of 1991. Received her certification from Midlands Technical College in Medical Billing and Coding and was pursuing her associates degree. She was a member of The Order of the Easter  Star, CELILL Chapter #480, Columbia, SC. A  dedicated member since 2017. Sister Williams won the crown of Ruth Grand Chapter #079 in 2018, Queen Easter. She was also a dedicated Satin Dollz Social Club member for the last 2 years. Monique was an enthusiastic volunteer and her focus was counseling and helping others with End Stage Renal Disease. Her message was simple: you can live a full life and she used her life as an example. She shared her many traveling adventures-cruising the Bahamas and seeing the East Coast. Her words provided encouragement and ended feelings of hopelessness because she always spoke life. She had no sad story and always smiled through the tough times. This was a ligh to many she encountered. Mo. was a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan. In November 2020 at Thanksgiving, she and her mother traveledto see her eldest son, Day Shawn in Texas. The highlight of the trip, in addition to spending time with her son and mother, was the tour of the famous Dallas Cowboy home AT&T Stadium. Another passion of hers was following her youngest, her baby Rakish's basketball career. Regardless of personal sacrifice, her unwavering support and pride in his accomplishments were always ever prominent when she spoke of him.Out of her love for her son's basketball and Coach Dawn Staley. The many laughs, cheers and chicken wings she shared with her family (her mother, Aunt Kate, Uncle Billy, Cousin Elena and Cousin Demetria) In Colonial Life Arena will always be remembered. Preceding her in death were her sister Ms. Jennifer Scott and brother Mr. Brian Hemming. Left to cherish precious memories are: her loving soss Day Shawn Williams and Rakish Taylor of the home;her loving mother Mrs. Loretta Hemming of Cayce, South Carolina; brother Mr. Harold (Aline) Hemming II of Cayce, South Carolina; sister Mrs. Bonita (Phillip) Reiter of Tucson, Arizona and Ms. Nicole Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
