Michael Gantt

Home going celebration for Mr. Michael Gantt, 59, of West Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Monday, 12:00 noon July 19, 2021 at Crossroads World Outreach Center 2606 Emanuel Church Road West Columbia, South Carolina with burial in the St. James Baptist Church Cemetery West Columbia, South Carolina. There will be a viewing on Sunday, from 12:00 to 6:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Lexington County the son of Martha Gantt Rhodes and the late Elijah Rhodes on March 24, 1962. Michael (Mike) was educated in the school district of Lexington County, graduating from Airport High School.  Mr. Gantt was a member of the St. James Baptist Church and was employed at Gleaton's Construction where he had a great passion for carpentry and was greatly skilled and talented in his work. He was preceded in death by his father, Elijah Rhodes, and brother Anthony Thompson.  Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Martha Rhodes, and four sisters, Rhonda Gantt of West Columbia, SC., Marilyn (Carl) Walker of West Columbia, SC., Alfreda (Charles) Dunlap of Lexington, SC., and Monica Rhodes of Lexington, SC., three brothers, Tony Gantt of West Columbia, SC., Michael Hallman of Columbia, SC., and Harold Rhodes of West Columbia, SC., one sister-in-law Jeanette Thompson,  and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
