Service for Mrs. Mary Ann East-McCulley, 84, of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 12:00 noon at First Northeast Baptist Church 311 Sparkleberry Road Columbia, South Carolina, with burial in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens 10215 Farrow Road Blythewood, South Carolina. Mrs. East-McCulley will lie in-state at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon Thursday and there will be a public viewing Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street. Columbia, South Carolina, born in Oakland, Tennessee to the late Clemon Humphrey and Mattie B. Boswell on January 05, 1941. She was a member of First Northeast Baptist Church and on the Choir, Praise Dancers, The Grateful Ones and wrote plays for the church. She is survived by her daughter, Michaela J. East-Gonzalez of Columbia, SC; step-daughter Joyce McCulley, sons, Kevin D. East of Columbia, SC; Brian (Sharon) East, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and two sisters, Dorothy Cheeks of Detroit, Mich. Joyce (Thomas) Allen of Monroe, Mich. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
