There will be a viewing on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. Mamie Worthen Muller who was affectionately called Momma', "Muh" "Granny"  "Momma Mamie" and "Ole Girl" by her children departed this loving life on December 6, 2023. Mamie was born April 12, 1932 to Fannie Worthen and Cleveland Lindsay in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In her early years she was educated in Spartanburg, South Carolina and then moved to Cayce where she was raised in the Wilkerson Home for Girls, Cayce, South Carolina and attended the schools in that district. She was joined in holy matrimony on November 26, 1949 to Marion "Mutt" Muller who was the love of her life. They raised their children with love and devotion. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was the first to offer help. She regularly cooked meals for sick neighbors as well as often invited others to her table. She was devoted to the care of her husband during his prolonged illness as well as to several of her sisters. Mamie was a member of Mount Pisgah African Methodist Church. She served as a member of the Sarah Allen Missionary Society, Stewardess Emeritus of the Stewardess Board, and Treasurer of the Women's Universal Auxiliary. She was instrumental in raising funds to replace the light fixtures in the sanctuary, purchasing of tables and ice machine in the educational wing of the church as well as raising funds for the gate for the cemetery. She worked many years at the Lox Screen Company from which she retired. She was the proud owner of Granny Green Thumb Garden Shop. Mamie enjoyed traveling and was happiest when she travelled. One of the trips that was top in her book was visiting her granddaughter, Dr. Felicia Walker, in New Zealand. She is pre-deceased by her parents; her husband Marion Muller; her sisters Mary Sims and Rosa Lee Fowler, son-in-law Nathan Fletcher Walker and daughter-in-law Etheleen Muller. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: Jacqueline (Larry) Carter, Reverend Audrey Williams, Reverend Pamela Jacobs, Debbie M. Walker, Vickie R. Muller, Marion Dwaine Muller, Cleveland (Rebecca) Muller, Merrita (Rodney) Robinson, Linda Daniels Foreman, Kevin Daniels, Eric Tillman, Mary (Milton) Glover; and sister-in-law Hattie E. Kinley; grandchildren: Tiffani (Carlos), Kimberly, Alicia (Byran), Yolonda, Toni, Felicia, Courtney, Kirsten, Kameron, Nileen, Chandler, Cleveland, Trey, Kellen, Donald, Sonya(Layman), Shonda (Charles), Indera, Stephen (Stephanie), Ashonti (Javaris), Sam, Darius (Jessica), Nicolas (Caitlyn), Tasheba, Sylvetta (Carlos), Greg, Shantel (Melina), Angelina, Angie, Tia (Andre), Helen, Tiffany, Bernadette; 69 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; god children: Angelo Jeffers and James (Angie) Cross and Mama's Girls Betty (Bernard) Anderson, Julia (Curtis) Randolph, Yannique Adams and Cynthia Garrett. She is also survived by her home sisters Billy Johnson, Willie Ruth Simpson, and Maud Smith, and many others who lovingly called her momma, to include nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. We are grateful for the many care givers who helped with her care, especially Queen James and her granddaughters Dr. Felicia Walker and Alicia Gilyard. No one else has held us so tight or made us feel so right. No one's eyes shined so bright with love, as you momma, who is now high above.
