Lillie Parnell Obituary

Services for Mrs. Lillie Bell Parnell, 89, of Baltimore, Maryland will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:30 pm in the Blackjack Baptist Church in Winnsboro, South Carolina and a viewing Saturday from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the church. burial will follow in the church cemetery. Lillie Bell Moore was born on February 14, 1935 in Winnsboro, South Carolina. Her parents were Maggie Moore (Later Geter) and John Douglass. She was the oldest of Maggie's four children. Following a hospital stay. Lillie transition of February 21, 2024. Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Albert, Sister Dessaree Johnson, and Brother Robert Geter. Lil, as she became known, along her siblings, spent her early years in the care of her grandmother Pearlie Moore in rural Winnsboro, South Carolina. Her early education was at Camp Liberty in Jenkinsville, SC, where she met and later married Albert Daniel Parnell. Their union produced one son, Alfred. The United States Army called  Albert, A.D. as he was also known, to active duty and deployment to serve in Korean War. Sometime after his return home from the service, A.D. moved his family to Baltimore, Maryland in search of better work opportunity. Life in Baltimore allowed Lil the opportunities to find in series of jobs before gaining employment with Grace Chemical Company in 1963 until he retirement in 1995. Lil loved her family and her friends  and was always one to pitch in and help She loved to travel. She always looked forward to the  family  reunions and our family and friends picnic. And, Lillie loved her independence. Lillie leaves behind to cherish her memory: Son Alfred; Brother Willie Moore; Sister-in-law Bessie McCollum; Sister-inl-law Carrie Entzminger; Brother John Parnell; Sister-lin-law Julia Parnell; Sister-in-law Lodesta Parnell an Nieces: Cheryl Johnson Green; Tondra Jenkins, Christal Lawrence; Nephew Darryl Johnson (Renee); Orlando Jenkins, Marcus Lawrence and a host of cousins, and friends
