Graveside service for Mrs. Juanita (Nita) Virginia Wilson King, 86, of West Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Sunday, 2:00 pm Graveside at Platt Springs Baptist Church Cemetery West Columbia, South Carolina, there will be a viewing held on Saturday from 12:00 to 7:00 at Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on October 29, 1936 the daughter of the late Eddie and Mary Hingleton Wilson. She was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Nita was a lifelong member of Platt Springs Baptist Church. She served in various capacities; Treasurer, Junior Choir and Sunday School. Nita was a home maker and volunteered at the local Elementary School. She was also a licensed Beautician. She had a love for children and helped to rear many of her nieces and nephews and some of the neighboring children. She a special love and place in her heart for her grands and great grands. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Paul King Sr, her son Lonnie Paul King Jr, brothers, Coolidge, L.K., Willie, Benjamin and J.C; two sisters, Farilee Wilson Adams and Frances Wilson Riley. Surviving is her daughter, Gwendolyn Smith and son Timmy (Lorraine) King; her grandchildren, Tiffani (Iley) Joseph, Monica A King, Cecilia L (Duane) Ledford, Dywonne M. (Brian) Whitmore, Nicholas ( Nick) Rhodes; great grandchildren William and Katelyn Ledford, Aniya, Arden and Iley III Joseph, William and Christopher Whitmore: sister Doris Duck and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
