John Mack Davis

Service for Mr. John Mack Davis, 79, of Blythewood, South Carolina will be Held on September 19, 2024 Thursday, 1:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home-Chapel 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina, with burial in Mt. Olive AME Church Cemetery 216 Blue Ridge Lane Columbia, South Carolina. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 1:30 to 6:00 pm at the Pearson's Funeral Home. Born in Richland County the son of the late Eugene  Davis and Francis Elizabeth (Blocker) Davis on June 20, 1945. Mr. Davis or "Dave or Hardtime " as he was affectionally known by attending the public schools of South Carolina, attending C.A. Johnson High School. He was employed by Nelson's Van and storage for many years. Mr. Davis was faithful member of Mt. Olive AME Church in Columbia, where he attended faithful until his health declined. Mr. Davis attended the Helping Hands Adult day center for several years where he developed a passion for arts and crafts and was also a singer. Mr. Dave was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. To have known Dave, you would know that he was the most laughing, joking stand up kind of guy that anyone would have loved to meet. Dave was a huge fan of Clemson Tigers. Even though he is no longer physically with us, his loving and kind witty spirit will forever live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew him. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and a son-in-law. Those who will deeply cherish the fond memories of Dave are Ethel Belton together fathered 3 children. One son, Mirio Davis of Columbia, SC, two daughters, Shonnie Davis of Hopkins, SC, Kesha Davis of Blythewod,  SC; six grandchildren, Ricky Fordham Jr.,  of Columbia, SC; D'Andre Carter of Hopkins, SC; Mirekeshanda McMillian of Columbia, SC; Nardia Jones of Myrtle Beach,, SC; Jasmine Kearse of Columbia, SC; Kiana Kearse of Myrtle Beach, SC; and eleven great grandchildren three sisters, Geneva Pearson of Columbia, SC; Mary(James) Frances Bethel of Columbia, SC; Geraldine (Rev. Ernest) Smith of Staunton, Virginia  and a dear friend, Ms. Wanda Ford and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
