Services for Mr. Frank Dowdy, 91, of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Mt. Pisgah AME Church 129 Dixiana Road, West Columbia, South Carolina. Burial will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Road Columbia, South Carolina. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at  Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main St. Columbia, South Carolina. Born in Lexington County the son of the late, Willie Brown and Emma Dowdy on December 2, 1932. Mr. Dowdy was a long time member of the Mt. Pisgah AME Church and was a Truck Driver for the United States Airforce and a Carpenter and owner of the Dowdy Community Care Center. He is cherish and love by his sons, Harold Dowdy, Tommy L. Dowdy, James E. (Angela) Dowdy, Frank R. Dowdy, Tracy M. Dowdy, and Aaron B. Dowdy all of Columbia, SC; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who loved him.
