Memorial services for Mrs. Essie Mae Lewis, 72, of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery 4170 Percival Road Columbia, South Carolina Born in Columbia, South Carolina the daughter of the late George and Margaret Simmons and 16 siblings, she was called hom on March 09, 2021 in the comfort of her home.Essie also known as "Tee" in her life held many titles. Wife; to her late husband Randolph whom she was married to for 35 years, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Caretaker, just to name a few. During her time her she worked in nursing and afterwards went into providing cleaning services.If you knew her then one thing you knew above all else is she loved and enjoyed the upkeep of all of her plants in the yard and she had a amazing green thumb. She was also a lifetime member of Bethel A.M.E. where she also sang on the choir as well. She is survived by her sister, Maggie (James)and Louise. her brother; Issac, her daughter, Jacqualine. and her grandson; Damian (Kendra), great grandchildren; and Tanyla, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
