Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Sterling Johnson Jr. 51, of 623 South Window Pane Way Duncan, SC, will be held on Saturday July 11, 2020 at 11:00 am in the Pearson's Funeral Home- Chapel 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, SC; with burial in the Greater St.Paul AME Church Cemetery 662 Old Wire Road West Columbia, SC. There will be a viewing on Friday at Pearson's Funeral Home from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Clarence Sterling Johnson Jr., affectionately know as "CJ" "Big Sterling", was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 5, 1968 and was laid to rest on July 5, 2020 in Greenville, SC. He was the only son son to the late Annie Laura "Laurie" Johnson and Clarence Sterling Johnson Sr.  In 1990, Sterling married and to this union 3 children was born Jasma, Sterling, and Kendra Johnson. One of the greatest gift Sterling leaves behind is his life story of growth, evolution and perseverance. Sterling was loved by many for his sense of humor, gratitude for the little things, commitment to protecting others, and ever preserving generosity. Over the years Sterling's career touched not only multiple industries, but many lives through construction. and manufacturing. and most passionately security. Out side of his career,he was an enthusiastic USC Gamecocks and Carolina Panthers fan. During his free time, he enjoyed serving his community, riding his four wheeler, grilling out, and spending time with his granddaughter Kimora. Sterling was predeceased by his Mother Annie Laura Jones Diggs and father John M. Diggs Sr. and Clarence Johnson Sr. Sterling is survived by his sister Laurie; children Jasma, Sterling, Kendra and Javonte; Stepsister; June Cosby, Karen Diggs and Stepbrother; John M. Diggs Jr. and Cyrus Diggs. Nephew, Jolor. Grandchildren Kimora and Mckenzie; and Partner Yolanda as well as a host of other family and friends.
