Clara LaMonica Evans

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara LaMonica Evans, 51, of Columbia, South Carolina will be held on Friday August 27, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Manifestation Church 714 Broad River Road Columbia, South Carolina, with burial to follow in the Robinson Memorial Cemetery Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Evans was born on June 20, 1970 in Richland County the daughter of Chelock Smith and the late Bobby O'Neal Mitchell. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday August 18, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland. Clara attended school in Lexington County where she received her GED. She continued her education at Midlands Technical College where she majored in business. Although Clara endured many health setbacks, she never ceased to give God the praise for bringing her through. She always said she was annointed to give a good word., others said she was called to be an Evangelist. Clara was always good at giving advice, a good laugh, or telling her testimony of how God healed her. She now has the ultimate healing. Clara had 2 major loves in her life, cooking and her grandchildren. She was employed as a cook for over 15 years. Her love for feeding people "pesh eating" was unmatched by her love for her grandchildren. All 10 of them had a special nickname, and place in her heart. They will miss her dearly. Clara was preceded in death by her father Bobby O'Neal Mitchell Sr., her sister Cindy Lavonne Linton, her brother Carl Joseph Mitchell, and her husband Craig Evans Sr. Clara leaves to cherish her memories her loving daughters, Cherise (Terrance) Brown of Columbia, SC; Crystal Mitchell of Pelion, SC; Samantha Mitchell and Rosalind (Antron) Murphy both of Columbia, SC: Her grandchildren, Xavia Miller, Summer Miller, Seth Sims, Kennedi Miller, Ah'Moni Foster, Macie Miller, Naviyah Pugh, Kassidi Murphy, Perry Pugh Jr., and Terranie Brown. Her mother Chelock Mitchell of Cayce, SC; Her brothers Bobby Mitchell  of West Columbia, SC; Mark (Monica) Mitchell of Lexington, SC and George Mitchell of West Columbia, SC; a sister Wendy Mitchell of Cayce, SC; and a host of cousins , nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
