Betty Jean Howell

Funeral services for Ms. Betty Jean Howell, 75, of Columbia, South Carolina. Will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 am Pearson's Funeral Home 4508 N. Main Street Columbia, South Carolina with burial to follow at the St. James Baptist Church 1131-S 40 1287 Hopkins, South Carolina. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 pm.  Born in Richland County the daughter of the late James Howell and Helen Thomas Howell on May 18, 1947. Betty attended the public schools of Richland County, South Carolina. She attended Sweet Home Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Cayce, South Carolina. She served Mount Pleasant until she was unable to do so. She was a faithful and devoted employee of Richland School District One at Crayton Middle School. She was employed with Crayton Middle School until her death. She will be deeply missed by the students and staff. She is survived and cherish by her sons, Keith and Travis Howell of Columbia, SC, and brothers, Carl, Mike, and Peter Brown all of Columbia, SC, and Jimmy Way (Patricia), of West Columbia, SC, and James Howell Jr of Columbia, SC, and Steve Reese of West Columbia, SC, and sisters, Carolyn Reese, and Shirley Sutton (Sammie) of Columbia, SC, and Debbie More ( Ronnie) of West Columbia, SC, and Marie Thomas of Cayce, SC, and grandchildren, Chasity Golden, and Cdquan Golden, and Tracie Howell, and Ka'Mari Howell and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
